Tennis Overhead – The Key to Visually "Finding" the Lob

The overhead is an opportunity, not a liability, if you can instantly “find” the lob.

And that means more than just identifying the direction of the lob, but as important, determining the depth of the lob.

And instinctively the way we figure out our opponent’s depth of their lob is to NOT move our feet, but for a moment to go still to try and quiet our eyes to be able to read depth.

That slight hesitation to move back to get into position to play your overhead typically means you won’t be able to really hit an effective overhead and also be able to move back into your net position.

So, with that said, the video tip below will help you instantly move back AND be able to determine a lob’s depth.

It’s all in the hands…

Volleys – The key for better pace, spin, and placement control

Ever feel that your volleys are sort of “dead”…?

Not much power and underspin despite the fact that you know you’ve got the right grip, the right ready position, the right stroke, etc…?

Here’s a tip that Tom Stow gave me when I first went to see him back in the day.
